Troop 244 started in 1967 at the Greenlawn School in Kenner, LA. To encourage youths in the scouting program, this Troop stressed advancement and an organized program of monthly outings. With a theme of hiking and camping, symbolized on our neckerchief patches, the Troop activities have grown from local outings to as far away at Philmont Scout Ranch, Canada adventures, and National jamborees.
